Goshenite is the pure, colorless form of beryl. Goshenite is sometimes coated with a green foil to resemble an emerald. Goshenite derives its name from the town of Goshen in Massachusetts, where it was first found.

It is a hard and transparent gemstone. The gemstone is found in the regions of North and South America (especially Colombia), Northern Europe, East Africa, South Africa, and the Himalayan mountains in Asia.
